Meet Emily
My name is Emily. I am in the 4th grade and I am a Level 2 scholar at Rise & Shine.
This past summer, I enjoyed the academic programs and the educational field trip to Georgia, the hiking trails, the pottery shops and the collaboration with the other scholars at the Rise & Shine Freedom School.
During the morning sessions, we had guided reading with our classroom instructor and was able to talk about what we had read in the book, and it was nice to be able to talk about, and express what we had read and express it in our own words and thoughts.
Rise & Shine has really given me confidence to be who I am, and to be able to express myself for who I really am. I am glad for the opportunity to be a Rise & Shine Scholar. We learned so much and we did so many things and it made my summer a great experience and I would not trade it for anything in this world and, I look forward to the 2023 summer program. I’m sure it’s going to be even better that it was in 2022. Rise & Shine Forever!
